Overview
DeskRange AI ("we", "us", "our") is a Windows desktop application for posture coaching. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what stays on your machine.
The short version: Your camera data never leaves your PC. We collect only the minimum information needed to process purchases and verify licenses.
Data that stays on your device
The following data is created and stored entirely on your local Windows machine. We have no access to it:
- Camera frames: Webcam captures used for posture analysis are processed locally and are never transmitted over the network.
- Trained posture model: The AI model trained on your calibration captures is stored in your Windows user profile.
- Analytics and scores: Weekly progress data, posture scores, and trend charts are local files in your user profile.
- App settings: Notification preferences, snooze intervals, and UI configuration.
Data we collect
When you purchase DeskRange AI, we collect:
- Email address: Provided via Google Sign-In during checkout. Used to verify your license and associate your purchase.
- Name: Optionally provided by Google Sign-In. Used only for display in your account record.
- Payment information: Processed entirely by our payment provider (Dodo Payments). We do not store credit card numbers or bank details.
We also collect standard web analytics on the marketing site (deskrange.aibucket.org) via Google Analytics to understand how visitors find us. This does not include any data from the desktop application.
How we use your data
- Verify your purchase and provide a lifetime license
- Respond to support requests related to your account
- Understand how visitors use our marketing website
We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Data storage and security
Account records (email, purchase status) are stored in a Neon Postgres database. The database is encrypted at rest and accessed over encrypted connections. We retain purchase records as long as your license is valid.
Local application data (camera frames, models, scores) is protected by your Windows user account permissions. We recommend keeping your Windows account password-protected.
Third-party services
- Google Sign-In: Authentication during checkout. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Dodo Payments: Payment processing. Subject to Dodo Payments' privacy policy.
- Google Analytics: Marketing site analytics only (not the desktop app).
- Vercel: Website hosting. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Your rights
You may request deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us. Local application data can be removed by uninstalling DeskRange AI and deleting its data folder from your Windows user profile.
Children's privacy
DeskRange AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
